Vintoria V. Bernard,
FCA, FCCA

A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) since 1987, Miss Vintoria Bernard was elected President of ICAJ on July 27, 2011, at its Forty-Sixth Annual General Meeting. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ).

Miss Bernard is a graduate of the University of the West Indies where she completed a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Management Studies. She is an Associate Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Vintoria is the Managing Partner of Vintoria Bernard Chartered Accountants. In practice since 1991, she has a wealth of experience in general management and internal and external auditing. Vintoria worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers for eight years and later widened her range of skills by stints in statutory organisations and the manufacturing and distribution sectors.

Since 1997, Vintoria has actively served on the Institute’s Continuing Professional Development Committee and has chaired the Public Relations & Publications and Taxation Committees. She also provided invaluable support on the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean’s (ICAC) Conference 2003 and 2011 Planning Committees. In July 2005 Miss Bernard was elected to the governing Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica and served as Vice President from August 2009 to July 2011. She served as president of the ICAJ from August 2011 to July 2013 and as Director/Treasurer of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of the Caribbean from June 2013 to June 2015. In June 2015, she was appointed the International Assembly Representative for Jamaica on the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants board.

Miss Bernard is a board member of the Jamaica Money Market Brokers Merchant Bank and sits on its Audit and Credit committees. She also sits on the board of the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica and chairs its Audit Committee, while contributing as a member of the Finance Committee.

Miss Bernard’s extensive social and community service include – twice Distinguished President of the Kiwanis Club of Eastern St Andrew,

former Board Member of the Temple of Light Church of Religious Science and the Small Business Association of Jamaica and Board Member of Youth Opportunities Unlimited. She is versed in Landmark Education technology. She has been leading Landmark seminars in Jamaica since July 2006, was made a Designated Seminar Leader in April 2009 and was elected to serve on the Central Region Designation team in January 2010. In October 2010 she was chosen to be trained as a Landmark trainer.

Vintoria’s recreational activities include sewing, reading, walking and yoga.
